What is the First Tech Challenge? FTC, the world’s largest robotics competition, is an annual global tournament in which over 8000 different teams design, build and programme a robot to compete in the same challenge. Robots compete in 2v2 matches, where a team who you are playing against one round may be your ally in the next. This fosters a sense of overall teamwork and cooperation on competition days.
However, the programme is also about ‘More than Robots’. A major part of success comes from outreach, helping other teams and the overall impact on a community a team has.
The one major rule at competitions is ‘Gracious Professionalism’. This can be interpreted in many ways, but basically means completing high quality work and competing to the best of your ability, while respecting others.
